The Story
Arashi is the Japanese pole-wrapping method of shibori — cloth wound around a pole, compressed and dyed, so the resist marks fall as diagonal storm-lines. Arashi means storm. Over an organza ground already carrying gold zari, the dye gives movement the weave alone cannot. An unusual pairing: Japanese resist dyeing on an Indian zari weave. For cocktail evenings and modern celebrations.

Woven by hand, so no two pieces are identical. Slight irregularities in the weave are the mark of a handloom saree rather than a flaw.

Saree approximately 5.5 m long and 1.06 m wide. Blouse piece approximately 0.8 m. Measurements are approximate and vary slightly between handwoven pieces.
Care
Dry clean only. Store folded in a muslin cloth away from sunlight, dust and damp, and refold every few months so the creases do not set. Iron on the reverse and never directly on the zari. Keep perfume and deodorant off the cloth.
